History
Yahkin Lodge #381 was first known as Enoch Lodge #45 in 1995. The lodge was reorganized and then renamed the date of June 1995 to Yahkin Lodge #381 by our Past Master Michael Bridge. We were formed by the desire of like-minded brothers from various lodges, all of whom had attained various honors as individuals from a lodge that could build around new concepts and ideas.
It was the goal of the core group to create an environment dedicated to the progressiveness of black nationalist culture with the fundamental practice in masonry, creativity, culture nurturing, collective empowerment, harmonious brotherhood, as well as economic and spiritual development. Yahkin's TRUTH is a divine attribute and the foundation of every virtue. "TO BE A GOOD MAN & TRUE LODGE." Is the first lesson we are taught in our lodge. The brotherhood in our lodge must be truthful in character and habits, dependable, men of honor on whom we can rely to be faithful fellows and loyal friends. Truth is our vital requirement if a brotherhood is to endure and Yahkin Lodge #381 accepts it as such.
Thinking of joining?
We would first and foremost like to thank you for your interest in becoming a member of Yahkin Lodge #381. We are an older lodge that has been around since 1995 and throughout the years it has taken us years of planning and preparation for this lodge to fine-tune our concept and structure. Enclosed in this package you will find a mission statement and action plan for the lodge, as well as some masonic background information and an application.
Yahkin Lodge #381 was formed with the purpose of becoming the most glorious lodge that we could be, and to also be a model lodge in masonry. As members, we know this is an enormous challenge, and it's one that we don't take lightly, thus we have been extremely particular in our selection and recommendation of potential members. We require all potential members to have a commitment to learning and mastering the science of masonry, continued education, family values, community services, ethnic pride, and collective economic empowerment.
We are looking for strong brothers with leadership potential and a desire to contribute their skills and resources for the advancement of the whole lodge. Based on our brothers, recommendation of your membership; we feel that not only do you possess the qualities we are seeking; but we believe that you are an asset that can truly enhance the greatness of the whole lodge.
